Exploring our humanity

“I saw my reflection in my father’s final tears.”

What does it mean to be human, it’s a bit different for everyone, but it’s about being alive, and learning to thrive.

There are a number of ways, that you can direct who you are and who you want to become, but you need to take the actions to get there.

My humanity, is discovered daily in the actions I take. Where I’m drawn, and to what I find myself drawn to are of the utmost importance.

Where is the love, and is it fulfilling? Or are you left empty longing for more?

There is this cycle that we experience; where any need, that is met leads to people wanting more…needing something else to find the same level of fulfillment to fill the void. Fulfillment is temporary, most things are.

These fleeting feelings we experience, are not things to be chased, we don’t need to chase that next dopamine rush, or serotonin surplus.

If we’re always chasing, it becomes a wild goose chase, and we never find satisfaction. There needs to be the space and time, for what you want, to find you. If you’re always chasing, then that which is chasing you, can never catch up. Having the patience to let it arrive, is power, there’s never any rush, but don’t be complicit.

So what can be done? how can we find a sense of fulfillment without seeking? The answer is in the question. It already is. You are fulfilled already, mentally we need to shift to a state of gratitude and appreciation, for all that we have, even when we’re not happy, because our feelings are tools to guide us to the life we truly want. Negative feelings are signals to our brain, that something is not right. Positive feelings are a reminder that something is resonating with you positively, learn to trust your self, move forward, stay grounded, and enjoy your life.
