More info: Potato Chip Rock via Hwy 67 is a 4.1 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail, it has a paved trail, and dogs are allowed if they’re leashed, it’s rated as moderate, but I felt that it was pretty easy. Bear in mind it is all incline, but if you go at a slow pace you should be able to handle it. For parking, there is no parking lot from this side, so you have to park on the side of the road. There are no restrooms accessible or available on this trail.

Experience: I think the view was what made all of it worth it. The drive, the hike, it was a day trip. Potato Chip rock itself is only accessible by jumping from one boulder to another, and you definitely have a feeling of uneasiness as you’re standing on the rock at first, wondering if it could support you (of course it can). Other than that you have to keep in mind that this location is extremely popular, so if you’d like your chance to take a picture on the rock, you will most likely have to wait in a line, unless it’s early, or late. We stayed until the sun had finished setting and hiked down in the dark, but it was totally worth seeing the sun go down over the horizon. (8.5/10)
