Wheel Of Fortune

My experience...

I applied online. Some time went by…

I received an email, from Wheel of Fortune, mentioning an audition.

I thought it was spam, or a scam at first, because it didn’t seem real. I checked things out, and it was from the studio.

I applied, and then had the audition. the audition was held over zoom, it was myself and 2 studio affiliates and 3 other people that were also auditioning. They asked about each of us, and we shared a bit about ourselves.
Then we competed against one another in a wheel of fortune format, playing the games, the same way as we would on T.V. only it was held on our laptops over a shared screen.

After the audition process, we were told if we were to make it past this point, we would receive an email saying we have been chosen as potential wheel of fortune guests, but that we would be added to the pool of people to be chosen from. This pool of people is a 2 year window, where individuals are chosen at random to be on the show. There is a 1 in 1.6 million chance of being chosen. Some might call it fate, I call it fortune that I was picked. I was in this pool of people for about 2 weeks when I found out I was going to be on the show.

A month later we recorded the episode.

It wouldn’t be on television for another 3 months. We were the first group of people to record an episode during covid.

They took a lot of precautions to prevent any covid risk, and to minimize any exposure.

It was a lot of fun.

I did have to re-record my part on the episode. Originally Pat Sajak asked about me, and I said how I am an author from California, and that i like to spend my time outdoors, do tattoos, and make music, and grow in all my passions, but more than anything I like to grow as a person.

After that Pat said that he wanted to grab lunch with me and just talk.I didn't know what to say, I froze up, and didn’t even realize I should’ve responded to that. It was such a far out question to me at the time that I stayed silent, lol. So they had me record that part again and I just said I am an author from Whittier, and was completely shy after that.

Overall though I had such a great time and am so grateful for the experience, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am so happy to have had the pleasure of living every moment of it.

I would also like to add that everyone that I interacted with was extremely friendly, accommodating, and helpful. They all went above and beyond prior to and up to the point of being on the show.

Vanna White talked to us all as a group before we went on the show. She was nothing short of inspirational, by just being herself and taking the time to share her kind words with us.

Thank you for reading, hope you have a great day!
