Hawaii
Location: Maui, Hawaii
Experience: I visited the Hawaiian Island of Maui, with my brother, 2 nieces, and a couple of their friends. The six of us stayed in a time share they have. It was a short walk from the beach, no more than 5 minutes. Everyday was a wonderful experience I will cherish for the rest of my days. We would all go out to eat breakfast together, explore the different attractions the island had to offer, and just enjoy each day as best as we could. One of the most incredible moments for me, was flying in a helicopter and seeing different areas they filmed Jurassic Park, I’ve always been a fan of the film series, so it was a dream come true.
We also made the effort to see the sunrise at Maui’s highest peak in the Haleakala National Park. Granted we had to be up before the sun, and hardly slept, it was totally worth it. There was something so special about seeing the sunrise above the clouds.
One day we celebrated our time with a traditional Luau, it was pretty cool to see the fire twirlers, and Hula dancers, but the best thing was sharing the experience with my family.
Another excursion we embarked on was the road to Hana. it’s a popular road that takes you to a number of beautiful beaches. We stopped at a couple black sand beaches. At the time I still smoked weed, and my brother and I shared a pineapple express joint right there on the cliffside coast.
We also stopped for a hike through bamboo forest, it wasn’t a long trek, but I remember all of us just laughing and having a good time, and eventually coming upon a waterfall, it was absolutely gorgeous.
During Our trip we did a number of activity and even made the time to go into an underground Cavern, it was massive, and extremely dark, only the flashlights we rented illuminated our way, with stalagmites and stalactites covering the ground and ceiling.
Although every day was filled with great experiences, and now wonderful memories, one of the highlights of the whole trip was when we all went parasailing. My brother, his buddy, and I went 500 feet up in the air on 800 feet of rope. It is the highest you’re allowed to legally go while parasailing, and it was thrilling. My brother and I are both afraid of heights, but the experience was totally worth it. I would highly suggest you give it a shot if you have time to do so.
Overall I had a wonderful time with my family when we visited Maui, and I would consider it a trip I will cherish for the rest of my life. I would highly recommend visiting if you have the chance. The locals on the island were extremely friendly and welcoming and it was one of the best weeks of my life. (10/10)
